Information Submitted by Visitors
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the provider that supplies that result path. Melrose Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries. A message sent to the contact address contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Routine Technical Data
Hosting services may create standard logs such as an IP address, browser information, requested pages, and time stamps. Those records are reviewed in aggregate for operation and page-use patterns. Cookies or similar tools can also support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
How Technical Data Is Used
The limited data supports site operation, error correction, traffic measurement, and editorial improvements. Visitor lists are not sold, and Melrose Residents Directory does not create individual reader profiles.
External Services and Links
Links may lead to Melrose, Massachusetts, or Middlesex South records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their own policies govern information sent to them. Sponsored search results are likewise supplied by an outside company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers can process the log information needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed outside those purposes only when required by valid legal process.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no site accounts, Melrose Residents Directory does not store a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact us if a minor has supplied information so it can be deleted.
Your Choices and Requests
Depending on where a visitor lives, laws may provide access, correction, or deletion rights for personal data a service retains. Massachusetts materials reviewed for this reference include G.L. c.66A, c.93H, c.214 ยง1B, and 201 CMR 17, but did not establish a comprehensive statewide consumer-data deletion or universal opt-out law. Because this service holds little data, requests generally involve the contact mailbox and available server logs. Send a request through the Contact page. Government records held by Massachusetts, Middlesex South, or Melrose custodians are outside this service's control and must be addressed to that custodian.
Policy Changes
Revisions will appear on this page. Continued use after a posted revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
